Our Story
We are Troullinakis family, originated from Asterousia mountains. Our small family business cultivates olive trees and produces virgin olive oil in southern Crete.
Asterousia mountains
located in southern Crete, separating the Messara Valley from the Libyan Sea. They were named after Asterion, the king of Crete at the time when Europa was abducted by Zeus and he brought her to Crete. Asterion married Europa and became me the stepfather of her sons by Zeus, who was shapeshifted into a bull. Asterion brought up his stepsons: Minos, Rhadamanthus, and Sarpedon. When he died, Asterion gave his kingdom to Minos, who promptly "banished" his brothers after quarreling with them. Crete, daughter of Asterion, was a possible wife of Minos
Our Community
Keeping the traditional methods of cultivation and processing, we integrate them with the latest technology, and with a passion for continuation of our family legacy, we produce Asterionas virgin olive, PDO Messara, Crete.
